Innovative Research Initiatives in Response to Social Justice

Join us for a live panel from  1 P.M. - 2 P.M. (EST) discussing how WVU researchers from different fields are responding to calls for social justice with innovative and creative ideas. Researchers from different fields will discuss their efforts and experience in addressing topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

  • Megan Gandy, PhD., assistant professor in the School of Social Work at West Virginia University
  • Joel William Beeson, PhD. associate professor at the WVU Reed College of Media at West Virginia University
  • Lauri Andress, PhD., assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Leadership in the School of Public Health at West Virginia University
  • James Nolan, PhD. Chair and professor of sociology at West Virginia University

Discover your passion in the Research Apprenticeship Program

Each semester, WVU undergraduates who are new to research engage with faculty on research projects to discover what they want to do in life while gaining value experience for their resume.  Opportunities are available to students of all majors and participants can seek a research position through federal work study or course credit.
